What is a continuing care home?
A continuing care home is a licensed home for residents with complex needs and 24-hour nursing care. It is what Alberta used to call long-term care. These homes were formerly known as nursing homes and auxiliary hospitals. (In Alberta's licensing, they are the Type A class of continuing care home.)
What does a non-compliance finding mean?
A finding records that an inspector found a home was not meeting a specific accommodation or health-service standard. Alberta tracks whether each finding was later rectified or resolved.
