What a finding is
A finding of non-compliance is recorded when a monitoring visit finds a home is not meeting a specific accommodation or health-service standard. The record cites the standard, describes what was found, and is tracked through to whether it was addressed.
The status a finding can carry
- Issued
- The finding has been recorded and is not yet addressed.
- In progress
- The home is actively working to correct the finding.
- Ongoing
- A continuing matter the home is managing rather than a one-time fix.
- Rectified
- The home corrected the issue and Alberta confirmed it.
- Resolved
- The finding was closed, sometimes by means other than a direct fix.
- No longer relevant
- The finding no longer applies, for example because circumstances changed.
How the counts on our pages add up
- Findings means every non-compliance item recorded, across all standards.
- Addressed combines rectified, resolved, and no longer relevant.
- Open combines issued, in progress, and ongoing.
- Each home page shows the split between addressed and open, and the province-wide picture shows how the system as a whole compares.
A count is context, not a verdict. We do not assign scores or star ratings, we do not rank homes, and we do not publish best or worst lists.
