Licensed beds as recorded on each home's public profile, grouped into four bed-count bands.
What the numbers show
A few patterns stand out across the bed-count bands.
- Bigger homes record more findings. Findings per home climb from about 8 in homes under 100 beds to about 22 in homes of 256 or more, roughly tracking the number of residents and staff.
- Measured per bed, the pattern flips. Per 100 licensed beds, findings fall from about 15 in the smallest homes to about 7 in the largest, because some findings attach to a home regardless of its size. That is why this site shows fines per bed and compares a home with others of a similar size, not with all homes at once.
- Most homes are small to mid-sized. About 68% have fewer than 160 beds, and only about 6% have 256 or more, so the largest band rests on a small number of homes (37).
Average record by home size
Averages cover each band's homes with at least one inspection since April 2022. Each home contributes its per-year rate, so homes with longer inspection histories are compared fairly.

Findings per inspected home. The current inspection regime began in April 2022, so 2022 is excluded as a partial first year. 2026 is in progress.
Larger homes have more residents, more staff, and more activity for an inspector to review, which is why this site shows fines per licensed bed rather than raw totals. These bands make the size comparison explicit: every home page compares a home with the Ontario average, and the average for homes of a similar size gives that figure a fairer cohort. One home has no licensed-bed count recorded and is excluded. These are category averages, not a verdict on any home; we do not rank homes. To read one home’s record in context, use its page.
